Max starts at 3pm on Friday 14 August — the earliest start of the whole season. Most nights here begin at six; this one runs right through the afternoon and into the evening, so it's the day to come down while the sun is still high rather than turning up at dusk.
He's a musician, producer and mixing and mastering engineer — one of those rare bookings who builds records from the ground up as well as playing them. Reggae and world music, of the Equity Hifi camp, with a soundsystem sensibility behind it. An extended set, with live melodica played over the top, which means it moves between a DJ set and a live performance rather than sitting neatly in either.
And he's followed by the special guest — now announced. It's Ian Luther, on from 6pm to 8pm, playing the first of two nights.
Free entry, no tickets. Pizza out of the oven all afternoon and evening, bar open. Sunset is at 20:49.
28 days only. Open every day to 31 August at Porth Tyn Tywyn, Rhosneigr.
