They're a global ensemble based in Bangor, put together by the poet and musician Martin Daws — eight players holding seven nationalities between them: Botswana, Cameroon, the Dominican Republic, England, Greece, Malaysia and Wales.
Drawn together, in their own words, by the love of good music and the power of rhythm to move people. Their stated mission is "to inspire their audience's minds while giving their bodies freedom to dance", which is about as good a description of a Wednesday in the dunes as we could ask for.
Martin has performed his work across three decades and several continents, and recorded with 9Bach, Mr Phormula, Huw Warren and Huw V Williams. He was Young People's Laureate for Wales from 2013 to 2016, and has co-curated the POETica performance series in Bangor since 2007.
